/ December Snow (12-30-23)

Good morning, cold winter.

It's quiet outside

Isn't it snowing?

Bells chiming, blearily opening eyes

I watch as snow gently falls outside my window

Eyes listlessly watch the like-petals drift by

Slowly, so slowly

There’s an empty feeling inside of me.

Throwing, pelted snowballs,

Exploding into a glitter of light and petals.

I couldn’t see how it shined so beautifully

Eyes shut, dry, cold air filling gasping lungs.

The snow that climbs between these clothes are cold;

I can't help but laugh.

There’s snow to be plowed.

My body throws piles upon piles

Smothering used-to-be flowers.

Heaving, sweating, body aching

Tears fall into snow’s embrace,

Watching snow gently fall upon my face.

The gust of time keeps bounding past me;

Every day feels too long to count now.

Wind cradles petals away;

Each one glistens back when I see them.

The snow that climbs between these clothes are cold;

I can’t help but smile.
